Welcome to my new SeaPikey Blog. Over the next few months I will strive to provide a variety of posts regarding all aspects of cruising, specifically on a budget. Topics will include Seamanship, Navigation, Maintenance, the Lifestyle in general and a whole lot more.
During my first year as a cruiser, my trip took me from the U.K, through Europe, via Madeira, the Canary Islands and the Cape Verdes to the Caribbean. In that time I have learned so much from so many and it seems a shame that other cruisers (both new and old) can't also benefit from this newly found knowledge and hopefully avoid some of the more costly mistakes I made along the way.
In addition to 'articles', the blog will also provide cruising related products at a hopefully cheaper price than you will find in your local Chandlers (read Swindlers).
Anyway, the first post of many.
